Application Process
Applications for bus services are accepted on a Quarterly Basis and must be submitted within specific registration windows. The application process can take up to four (4) weeks for approval. Register as early as possible. You will need a Hawaii DOE Student ID number. Students from a Hawaii DOE school are already issued a student ID#; new students need to register before being issued a student ID #.
Obtain Application Form: Download the annual HIDOE School Bus Handbook Application Form (PDF).
Complete Application: Fill out both sides of the application form, making sure to indicate the type of service desired and payment information in Part III. If applying for free bus transportation, complete Part IV, indicating the reason for eligibility.
Submit Application:
Online: Submit your application online to the school for processing via eTrition.
In-person: Applications are also accepted in-person at our school's main office.
Notification: You will be notified of the approval or disapproval of your bus application by your school (via email or phone). For online applicants, once applications are reviewed and approved by the school, families will be prompted via email to submit payments online using EZSchoolPay.
Bus Pass: Upon approval, your child will be issued a temporary bus pass for immediate use. This must be surrendered when the permanent bus pass card is received.
Important Notes:
Bus passes are non-transferable and valid only on the assigned bus route and for the assigned quarter.
Applications are submitted on a QUARTERLY basis and will not be accepted outside of the indicated periods.
