Get ready for Kindergarten with these key dates for July and August 2025:
Meet & Greet / Back to School Fair: Wednesday, July 30, at 1:00 p.m.. Pick up your child's "Kindergarten First Days Packet" here, which will have personalized assessment and orientation details. You can also drop off school supplies.
Individual Assessments: Scheduled for August 5, 6, and 7. Your child's specific 25-minute appointment will be in their packet.
Small Group Orientation: Group A is Friday, August 8 , and Group B is Monday, August 11. Your child attends only on their assigned full day.
All Kindergarteners Report to School: Tuesday, August 12, for the full day.
Early Dismissal: Wednesday, August 13.
Statehood Day: Friday, August 15 (No School).
Prepare your child for a great start with their Kindergarten school supplies.
The list includes items like backpacks, crayons, markers, glue, pencils, headphones, and composition books.
Crucially, please label EVERY item with your child's name or initials (e.g., each crayon, pencil, marker).
You may purchase any brand unless specified. Please unwrap packages and sharpen pencils beforehand.
A few important points for the school year:
Health: Practice good hygiene and please keep your child home if they are sick. Hickam Elementary is a nut-free school.
Communication: Check your child's Communication Folder DAILY for important notes and forms.
Safety & Responsibility: School starts promptly at 7:55 a.m.. Students are expected to follow HEART expectations (honor, excellence, aloha, resiliency, teamwork). Visitors must sign in at the office.
