Games for digital literacy day program robots learn about what's inside a computer and so much more let's take a look at what Tech students are learning Aloha I'm Haley what do you advise of the Falcon today I'm here with Lincoln Lincoln what are you learning and text wife how to make games what do you making maze do I like why do you join text but I think Tech Squad is a good computer science and maybe when I grow up by I want to fix computers deal with computer so I think it's a good thing you making didn't text God right now we're making a game we have to code the game in order to make it so Sarah why did you join text because ever since I was a young child I really like technology and I thought that I didn't want to miss out on an opportunity what are you learning in Tech Squad we're learning how to make games and I think it's really cool what game are you making I'm making a question because I saw RPG and I really like RPG so I wanted to make my own cool thank you for your time I lose a career as the Falcons there's some really good projects I agree I can't wait to play the Friendship Games during digital literacy day I can't wait to see you for the next Spotlight on teaching is going to be I hope it's my teacher it's me Spotlight on teaching is a Miss Arkansas TV Spotlight on teaching is on miss our Christmas she likes helping as I understand and learn new things for 9 years here's fun stories from her students she has only taught sixth grade but she used to 6th grade social studies at middle school and also listening to music and playing for games with their favorite food is pizza her favorite movie is Captain Marvel how do you throw a expecting it today I'm here with Laila o Laila what do you like about being in moussaka sakis class he's really nice and she helped us learn is how she a good teacher she really takes some she really help learn and she takes her time and she like she really just like explains it and she really is patient and she helps us be able to understand everything how does Miss sake help you learn well she explains the lessons and the subject very well and when you ask her a question she also explained it really well what do you like about being in this a kostakis class I like it because everybody's so nice and helpful and that we can always have a chance to get our work done while she is a really amazing teacher those students are really lucky to have her last time for would you rather would you rather play video games or read a book I have to say read a book why are there so many books to read and reading just really fun would you rather have a play video games find me to book read a book why because I love you Dad I'm in the meeting ever since I was little would you rather play video games or read a book or video games why I like to play video games just like my dad and my friend and it's just fun to play them thank you for your time. I'm Hailey what is Rises Falcon this did you know Trap Club is a club that helps you build up your running Sandra track is run by wood fencing and Coach Bryant has track practice will be after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays tryouts will begin on February 26th to March 1st it's open to 5th and 6th graders you want to try out please see coach bouncing from one information here are the boys and girls participating in the Radford complex basketball tournament learning a new language is hard but cannot be really fun speaking of fun another fun after school club we have here is Spanish club Spanish Spanish Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2 to 3 students learn about the many different cultures that speak Spanish and Puerto Rico dreams thank you a herbivore between please fun projects to celebrate the different cultures and today I'm learning new things and I like doing fun stuff with my friends what's up with some stuff you do sometimes we to dance like where our parents can see and also season one time my mom had made it does and I didn't do Central Ohio has a Leo so what do you learn in Spanish club I learned that I know I learned you but that Cuba is a common this country is there anything else you want I learned that the cupid birth full Mingo what do you like about Spanish club I love how we learn about different cultures cuz it just seen and what is one of the new things you've learned I've learned that in about the flamingo is the most popular bird there that's really cool is there anything you anything else you find a lot more but I don't think I have time to put it on here today thank you for your time I'm in about 2 hours and you watching rise of the falcon recently taken students from third through sixth grade participated in the school spelling bee class boundaries against the school spelling bee 2013 participants in a school spelling bee winning word was Interstellar and the winner is C12 be representing our school for the District spelling bee where is Jacob Elementary Aloha Aina lose a curry I'm a sixth grader at Hickam Elementary School this is use Capital commentary Xavier is superintendent of schools Keith Hayashi so Keith today so myself Deputy superintendent we have complex areas Printing and even some principles are visiting with our area legislators and really choosing ourselves to them and really being sure that were able to build a strong partnership cuz you are very fortunate that we have legislators that support and all of you especially Hickam Elementary and how are you going to build a strong partnership with them but things that are going on in our schools the wonderful things that our students are doing together with their teachers and the rest of the school, cuz remember we are working towards getting our students to be globally competitive and locally committed right and I know mr. Wetzel at Hickam Elementary that's a lot to move our students in the direction I remember visiting hiccup and seeing the wonderful programs that you have there and I think when I went there it was even said there was some an event going on outside but it really brought together parents and students and the whole school community so proud of the work that all of you are doing at Hickam so keep it up cuz you doing a great job that's so cool and is there anything else you'd like to say to Orion's Elementary you do a wonderful job keep it globally competitive locally committed students that starts in elementary schools it starts with opportunities like this and partnering with a level that we have we can provide our students in Partnership these opportunity like you having here today it's so wonderful to see you here at the Capitol because I know in the future you may be I may be watching you on TV on the news and the rest of you may be here at the legislature really making a difference for our communities and that's really never give it back so thank you for all your effort and all your work thank you and thank you for your time and this is youth Capitol commentary is Huma Huma Nuka Nuka apua'a.
