We love showing our school spirit! "College Shirt Day" usually occurs on the last Friday of each month. Even on Theme/Spirit days, students must still adhere to the general Hickam Dress Code regarding safe footwear and appropriate bottoms (no jeans, no Crocs, no cargo pants, etc.).
HIDOE policy requires a provision allowing parents to request a waiver to the wearing of the uniform. Waivers must be renewed each year and are granted on a case-by-case basis by the Principal for the following reasons:
Financial hardship.
Incoming students or students with a PCS date within 90 days.
Medical reasons establishing a student's intolerance to the standard uniform.
Dress Code for Waiver Students: If a waiver is granted, the "Hickam Dress Code" applies in its entirety.
Boys: May wear T-shirts, polo shirts, or dress shirts. No tank tops, offensive logos, or cargo shorts/pants.
Girls: May wear T-shirts, polos, blouses, skirts, skorts, or dresses. No spaghetti straps (straps must be 2+ inches). No cargo shorts/pants.
